Project Details
This grand Victorian home sits in one of East Melbourne's most established streets. The brief was to bring the upper storey up to a modern standard without losing the historic character that gives the house its authority, layering contemporary interiors over original bones.
Upstairs, skylights were introduced to draw natural light deeper into the plan, alongside a new bathroom, a full repaint and the fit out of walk in robes. The changes are modern in feel but sit comfortably against the original architecture rather than competing with it.
Scope of Works
The outdoor living area was refurbished into a fresh and modern space, worked around a neutral palette so it holds up through every season. It gives the owners somewhere to use all year round rather than a courtyard that only comes alive in summer.
